Article

I thought I would share this with everyone. It's an article about a kid that was recruited out of the office Mitchell works. I'm not sure who put him in but I know it wasn't Mitchell. Still Mitchell showed it to me and I really liked the article. Thought it was worthy of sharing. Its about the kids that was put in. He was born and raised in Iraq for ten years and why he decided to become a United States Marine! Here's the link:

KalieAnn

KalieAnn is slowly becoming herself again. Mitchell and I made the descion last weekend that we were going to stop trying to give her the medication. It was making her feel crappy and it had her throwing up on a regular basis. Plus, we couldn't it get her to take it any more. We'd get it in her mouth and she'd spit it back out at us. The last and final reason we decided to take her off of it was because when I got into the shower with her on Sunday,it scared us on how skinny she is becoming and she was suppose to stop today anyway. So yesterday was her first day without the medication. She didn't eat much until dinner and this morning she ate a whole bowl of cereal. So yay!! My little girl is slowly but surely returning to herself. Thank you again for all your prayers and support!

4mnth Appointment

Hannah's 4month appointment went great! She'sdef. a big girl! her head size wasin the 85th percentile, her weight at 15lbs 10.5ozs(90th percentile), her height at 26 1/4in. (98th percentile). doctor asked us what we were feeding her. :)
On another upside it seems like weare all on the mend. My cough is getting better. doctorsaid mylungs still sounded a little irritated but thats what the meds are for. He also mentioned the kind of antibiotic they gave me is they kind that's strong enough to make sure you don't come back! We found that amusing. Well we're goingtotry and enjoysomeofour weekend. God Bless and thankyou for all yourprayers!

Semi-eating

KalieAnn's had a bit of a rough day. She didn't eat anything this morning or afternoon. It wasn't until we went to the hospital to get me checked for pneumonia did she decide to eat a popscile. In fact she ate three. PLusa chicken nugget on theway home, yay!! But before we went there she threw up twice. Doctors not too concerned about the eating as they are about her hydration.
As for me, I have the early signs of pneumonia. it hasn't gotten to the point you can see it on X-ray but they could hear my shortness of breathe and had me do a breathing treatment. They also gave and have given me antibiotics, a type of inhaler..can't remember what kind it is and a medication for my cough and to loosen up the icky mucos in my throat. Anyway..thats enough growsness for one blog. Prayers for our familyto continue to get better.
Tomorrow morning we have Hannah's 4mnth check up! Can you believe it 4months!! Man does time fly. Well I'm off to bed, God Bless!

Not Eating

Just thought I would let everyone in on the update. KalieAnn has developed a pretty nasty cough and won't eat. We were able to get her to eat a couple bitesof pizza yesterday but thats it. She's drinking some juice here and there. I'm able to get her to drink a glass of milk so I can give her the medications. We'll see what the doctor says about all of it. Update later.

She's Home!!

The let her go this evening. So she is now happy and home! We were able to get her to a hot dog for dinner! Now for the run down. She had Strep Neumo...something like that. they basically said it was bacteria in her blood which can lead to Pneumonia. So she had that and pneumonia. The amoxiclyn..remember I'm guessing on the spelling of these names... that they gave Mitchell when they discharged the first time wasn't fighting the bacteria. So they needed to be able to find an antibiotic that her body would react to to help her fight this..which they did and our little girl is starting to act more and more like herself. So Yay!! Thankyou for all your prayers it mean A LOT!! God Bless

Update

KalieAnn is back to not eating or drinking much if any. But as far as I know she hasn't thrown up again. Her cultures from yesterday didn't show much but the ones from Saturday and Sunday showed the Strep Pneumonia. It is looking like the might release her today and let her go home. So we'll see.

Morning

I just got off the phone with Mitchell. He said that her blood culture came back as Strep Pneumo (Pneumonia) and that she is getting a little better. That's all he said for now. He sounded really tired. So I will let you know if more is said. God Bless!

Night Cap

Well I just got back from being able to visit her for a little bit. Our neighbor Mandy was kind enough to sit with Hannah for me. We haven't heard anything from the doctor yet and probably won't until the morning. I think they come in once a day...I think in the morning...unless otherwise needed. But for now she is keeping her food down and hoping that doesn't change. She has a real good group of nurses that make sure she's doing good and has given her a little stack of stickers that she is very proud of.
Mitchell seems to be hanging in there. He's been doing a great job. I've been so blessed to have two great kids and a wonderful husband who loves his kids with all his heart. Well I'm going to try and get some rest and relax for the night. Let you guys know if there's anything else to update on. God Bless!

Update

So far we are still waiting for the test results. They said it can be up to 48 hours before they know anything about her blood cultures..with that being said the ones they took Saturday evening should come in some time tonight.
I was able to go see her because my friend Jeanette was nice enough to be able to take Hannah for us and she didn't look good. She wasn't eating or drinking and just wanted to be left alone. Mitchell said when she was awake she was crying and when she wasn't she was sleeping.
On a good note...I was almost home from picking up Hannah and he called me and said she wants a taco..so I said "Okay I'll be right there!!!" I got there and it was a whole different story. She was more like herself. She even took a bite out of her taco! On the other hand she was like this last night too but wound up getting worse in the morning. With that said we're not getting our hopes up too much but I'm taking what I can get. And if that means for now hugging my little girl, telling her I love her and in return getting a "love you too Mom...Let go Mom" then I'm off the walls happy! Thank you again for your prayers and support, it means a lot! God Bless!!

Update on KalieAnn

Mitchell called to let meknow that they are again running more blood tests on KalieAnn..when we get the results I will be sure to let everyone know. Thank you again for all your e-mails and support but right now all we really need is everyone's prayers and supports. Love you all!!

KalieAnn

I wanted let everyone know what is going on here. Saturday evening KalieAnncame down with a really high fever of 105.6. So Mitchell took her into the ER and found Pneumonia on her X-ray, They gave her antibiotics for us to give her three times a day and sent them home around 1 am on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon we got a call from the hospital letting usknow that they found something in her blood culture and need to bring her back in. So we did. They said that found strep in her blood..not as in strep throat...somthing that does lead to Pneumonia and wanted to take her blood and another X -ray again. Plus put her on IV fluids and antibioticsbecause she wouldn't eat and didn't want to drink or eat much.
The test came back showing that it has actually gotten a bit worse and the X-ray was the same. Next step..they admitted her into the pediatric ward of the hospital for the night to monitor her and giver her medication every four hours.
This morning Mitchell called me and she's actually gotten worse. She's not keeping anything down now and will be staying another night. Just thought I should let everyone know whats going on. I'm at home keeping Hannah from getting it. I'm hoping I'll be able to find someone to watch Hannah for a little bit so I can go see her. Well I'm going to try and keep myself busy
